The Gen-Z Consortium is committed to supporting an open ecosystem where its members, individuals, and organizations can work together to address industry needs. As part of our continued effort on this front, the Consortium has developed a new webinar series, Open Standards Body Partner Relationships and Activities, that will be taking place this fall.
We are excited to kick off the series in an upcoming webinar partnered with the OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA) to discuss progress on the open fabric management structure. The free webinar, titled “The OFA & Gen-Z: Working Together to Facilitate Fabric Agnostic Solution Development,” will take place Thursday September 30, at 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET.
This webinar is just one result of the 2020 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement between the Gen-Z Consortium and the OFA, which is designed to advance the industry standardization of open-source fabric management. The MoU also established the framework for a series of technical exchange meetings between both organizations.
Presenters from the OFA include Mike Aguilar (Sandia) and Phil Cayton (Intel) who will be joined by Richelle Ahlvers (Intel) as she provides a broader industry perspective from SNIA. The Consortium will be represented by our newly-appointed president, Hiren Patel (IntelliProp), along with Russ Herrell (HPE) and Erich Hanke (IntelliProp). Gen-Z Consortium Treasurer Kurtis Bowman (AMD) will act as moderator.
Tune in to hear from both organizations about the origins of their partnership, specification work, and what the future holds as they discuss the impact that fabric development is having on the industry. A dynamic fireside chat will follow organization presentations with an audience Q&A session to conclude the presentation. This discussion is the perfect way to jump start the season as we gear up for SC21 and prepare for 2022!
