Flash Memory Summit is right around the corner on Aug. 7-9, and the Gen-Z Consortium is excited to be participating in the event for the second year in a row. We will be showcasing our multi-vendor demo in booth #739, and our experts will be participating in presentations and panel discussions throughout the conference.
“Gen-Z is very excited to be presenting multiple tracks at FMS this year and to be demonstrating Gen-Z connected systems in our booth,” said Kurtis Bowman, President of the Gen-Z consortium. “Stop by and meet with us in booth #739, where you will see compute servers access common, shared memory over the Gen-Z fabric. Check out the mechanical form factors and concepts Gen-Z is bringing to life to aid in data analytics, memory-centric computing, and fully composable system architecture.”
The annual event promises to be a showcase of exciting new and emerging Flash Memory technologies and applications, with nearly 130 exhibitors – including 20 Gen-Z member companies from all corners of the industry.
FMS showcases the mainstream applications, key technologies and leading vendors that are driving the multi-billion-dollar, non-volatile memory and SSD markets. According to its website, “FMS is now the world’s largest event featuring the trends, innovations and influencers driving the adoption of Flash Memory in enterprise storage applications, as well as smartphones, tablets and mobile and embedded systems.”
The Gen-Z multi-vendor demonstration utilizes FPGA-based Gen-Z adapters connecting compute nodes to memory pools through a Gen-Z switch, creating a fabric that connects multiple and media devices showcasing memory sharing. Our second demonstration is the first-ever display of the Gen-Z connector linked to Gen-Z backplanes and 1.0 IP running on a pluggable Gen-Z memory drive.
Our informational presentation and panel discussion provide two great opportunities to learn more about Gen-Z technology. On Tuesday, Aug. 7, Consortium President Kurtis Bowman will present about the industry benefits of Gen-Z technology during the Enterprise Storage Design track from 3:40-6 pm.
Also on Tuesday, HPE Fellow and Gen-Z architect Michael Krause, will participate in a Chat with the Experts session from 7-8:30 pm. This is a casual conversation with pizza and beer offered.
Gen-Z has made a lot of exciting progress and experienced incredible growth – now with more than 50 members! – since last year’s event. If you would like to meet with us to learn more about the technology advancements, use-case scenarios, or membership, please let us know here.
And if you haven’t done so yet, please follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for news and updates about everything Gen-Z.
Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the show!
